Confused on chapters
I just bought trilogy after trial and have a few characters. I get that if I play them through Prophecies I will eventually be able to play them through Nightfall and Factions. However, how does this work? If I start Nightfall as a lvl 20 character am I fighting level 1 mobs in the first newb town of Prophecies etc? How is the content still relevant if you can have lvl 1 chars in each campaign?
Now what about reverse? Can I ever play prophecies with a dervish? If so how are the mobs level appropriate? Thanks. |

What ends up happening is you usually end up coming into the campaign while spending minimal time in those early areas. And yes you can make a dervish and eventually get it into prophecies.
Brining a dervish into prophecies when you go out the portal stuff will be level 11 :\ I know kinda low right? Bringing a dervish into factions you'll be starting out against stuff thats mostly lvl 18-22 Bringing a prophecies char into nightfall. You will start in the extremely low level areas. But within a few quests be fighting level 20's. |

you can leave from nightfall before level 20---and you will travel to Kaineng in factions which is level 20 mobs, to Lion's Arch in Prophecies which is only about 10-12.
You will be able to do missions and quests at the point where you transfer in for xp and quest rewards, you can do the missions previous to where you transfer in (there are 7 in prophecies and 2 in factions), however you will NOT get the xp for doing them just the completed missions for the protector? title (you can do them in Hard mode once you have finished that chapter with one of your characters at which time you will earn xp ) hope this helps

The game design is that when you cross to another campaign, you continue on from that point. The Primary Quest puts you into that campaign's storyline at a point where the foes will start being harder (except for Prophecies). So it would be:
Factions - primary quest takes you to Vizunah Square mission Nightfall - primary quest takes you to Consulate Docks mission which takes you to the mainland Prophecies - primary quest takes you to D'Alessio Seaboard mission where you begin your involvement with the White Mantle. This involvement is necessary to understand the storyline as it advances.

In all campaigns except Prophecies, everything past the tutorial areas is level 20 content - as I mentioned in another thread, leveling is not considered an important part of the game.
Moving a character from anywhere into Factions or Nightfall will drop you around the beginning of the level 20 storyline, so everything will work just as intended. Moving a character into Prophecies puts you around 1/4 of the story. Last 1/3 of the Prophecies story is level 20, so using Factions or Nightfall to fast-level a character will spoil a challenge of a part of the Prophecies storyline. I'd recommend you don't do that on your first run through Prophecies, however, for later alts, you can skip large parts of the storyline and quickly go to the level 20 areas. But even on alts you may want to reconsider this, as you might want to have a simple outpost access into Maguuma, for example, to farm or help guildmates. |

Quote:
These quests that take you to the other campaigns, do not take you to the beginning of the campaign, but rather, to those above mentioned outposts. For example, the Dervish would arrive in Prophecies at Lion's Arch. In some cases, the foes you meet outside those outposts will be a relatively low level, but they get harder soon enough. And, you can still explore the earlier areas in the campaigns (except pre-searing), to complete some titles, but you won't get any XP from the missions and you won't be offered any quests in those early areas. Once you do the quests, the outposts - L.A., K.C., and Kamadan - will be accessible by using the "boat" that appears on the map, and you can travel back and forth as desired. (Map travel) |

play at least 1 character through each campaign then you can use hard mode to make the content relevant to a top level character.
